Audience questionaire analysis

I decided to create a questionnaire for my audience. I based the questionnaire around what I think my target audience would like to see in my magazine, and to get a greater understanding of who my target audience are and what they are interested in. I had an idea that I wanted to make a music lifestyle magazine, based around a range of different music, skateboarding, surfing and fashion. I wanted to hand out my questionnaire to find out if my target audience would actually want to read the magazine that I think I would like to design. Below I have made data grids that show the results of my questionnaire.

From the grids that I have produced, I have gained a better understanding of who my target audience are, and what they would like to see in my magazine. I am able to calculate and average price for my magazine using all the prices people said they would pay. I have gained a greater understanding of what my target audience would like to see in the magazine e.g. tour dates, new artists, boards, clothes and pictures. I have decided that my magazine will be published monthly as the majority of my respondents said they would want to buy it monthly. This also gives time to produce the magazine to the best it can possibly be. My questionnaire shows me that my audience seem to listen to a wide range of music, from gangster rap to indie; i will try my best to incorporate these different genres into one final product. I have decided against using the colours as shown on my colour mood board. These were just an idea, but even though they proved to be popular with my respondents, I felt that as my first issue is going to be published in December, maybe more wintery colours would be more appropriate due to the season. I may use the colours on a later edition in the Spring. I was considering making an online version of my magazine as I thought as technology is advancing and becoming ever more popular this would be a good idea, but it seems that my respondents didn’t feel that an online edition would be as suitable. The only male respondent said that he would prefer and online edition, but as my magazine is targeted at girls I decided to make a normal magazine. So due to this i have decided that I am just going to have a website as an extention to the magazine.
