How did you attract/address your audience?

I decided that the best way to show how i attracted and addressed my audience was to annotate my front cover on Flickr.

My product tends to speak in the language of my target audience. Although my audience are middle class, meaning they are farely well educated, i made sure that my magazine was written in the way that my target audience would talk to a friend. This means that although they had the knowlege to understand in depth articles, i chose to stay away from this. I wanted my magazine to be a lighter read for the audience, almost like a breath of fresh air for anyone that may be studying at university and having to read big chunky books full of complex sentences. I found that if i spoke to my audience in the way that they would speak to a friend, it would attract my audience to buy my magazine a lot more. The stye of my magazine is based specificly around my target aueince. I made sure that the colours were modern, minimalistic and stylish. In my research and planning I decided that i would use bright summery appealing colours, but as my magazine was the December issue, i decided against using such bright colours. My colour moodboard would be the perfect colours for a summer issue of my magazine. I made sure that the colours i used were powerful and appealing to the eye.

My target audience would want to buy my magazine because it is up to date with the latest bands, fashion and technology. I actually designed an app for my magazine, as i know that the majority of my readers will have a smartphone. I would charge a small amount to buy the app as interviews and articles would be avalible exclusivly to the app. I would probably charge around £1.00 for the app, which i think is a reasonable price, also meaning that more of a profit could be made. I know that the app would attract my audience as they are the kind of people that are constantly wanting all the new technology and gadgets, meaning that they are more than likely to purchase the app.

Throughout the production process, i was constantly asking for feedback from someone that i knew that fitted into my target audience. This way i made sure that i understand what my audience want, and i managed to adress their needs effectivly.
